Michael Gladstein, author of SQ Write, will explain executive functioning and its impact on student writing achievement.  Participants will learn about and understand the most current research on writing instruction.  This interactive presentation will emphasize how to best utilize SQ Write and students' executive functioning skills to help them become organized, effective, and powerful writers.  You will learn the simple, yet powerful process of (1) Self-Questioning (2) Answering (3) Orally Rehearsing (4) Writing.  You will help build and write an essay based on executive functioning research while learning hands-on writing strategies to implement with students...immediately.   In fact, you will be the student using the SQ Write tools to build a structured, complete essay!  Participants will experience how SQ Write can be an effective writing tool to help students meet the Common Core Standards...immediately.
